A genuine friend must know how to to give advice even when they don’t want to hear it. However it is only when that advice is said with an understanding and loving heart, that that advice becomes trustworthy and can be seen as grateful by the opponent.
Job’s friends lacked very much in this sense.
If there is any advice that needs to come out of our mouths, I hope that can be said cautiously as we pray with a heart of understanding and love for the opponent.

22 Have I ever said, ‘Give something on my behalf, pay a ransom for me from your wealth,
23 deliver me from the hand of the enemy, rescue me from the clutches of the ruthless’?
24 “Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong.
25 How painful are honest words! But what do your arguments prove?
