People find the act of giving or recieving love to others difficult. This is because we are selfish. We think logically first; whether our actions will either benefit us or disadvantage us. Then, we calculate if the action will make others love us. However, we need to remember that we are able to live the life we love because God constantly and unconditionally loves us. Jesus loved us even when he died on the cross because of our sins.
How can we love?
If we think logically, we cannot love a single person. This is because in thinking logically, we only think about receiving love. This year, it is time to expand the boundaries of love by thinking less logically and giving love to other more.
Today’s Reading: 1 John 4:13-21
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us.
20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
