A person that is saved turns from a sinner into a righteous man, and through the grace of God they earn eternal life to live as God’s holy sons and daughters. However, we sometimes fall because of our old nature of the self that still exists in us, and the temptations of sin. For believers of God to not be controlled by sin, ‘We need to confess that we are already free from sin and are under the grace of God. We must offer our every part of ourselves to God as an instrument of righteousness that he delights in.’ As Christians who have died along with Christ and now have a new life, we must never forget the grace that loved us so much that it would die for us. Also, when we realise that we are God’s honourable sons and daughters whom sin can no longer defile, sin cannot take control of us.
Passage to read: Romans 6:12-23
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
