There was a paralytic. But this paralytic could not come to Jesus because of the crowd. So, at that time, the people caring for the paralytic climbed up to the roof and started drilling through the roof. Then they lowered the bed of the paralyzed man they were caring for and brought him down in front of Jesus.
Looking at the faith of these people that led their actions, Jesus healed the paralytic.
What would I have done if I was the one caring for the paralytic? Would I also make my way through so many people to heal the sick?
Would I go through the labour of going up to the roof with a bed, break through the roof, and send it down to Jesus?
I was able to meditate deeply on how freedom from sin, healing from sicknesses, and the salvation of the soul is achieved.
It is through our ‘faith’.
Not because of our labour, but because of the power of Jesus.
I will hold onto the God of that power today.

18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.
20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.”
