As God punishes Moab, His heart is filled with sadness, like the sad music of a pipe.
God is angered by Moab’s arrogance and wickedness and punishes her, but His love for her still remains. God’s judgement upon Moab was a necessary process to humble her.
Aren’t we also failing to think of our mistakes and resenting God and complaining to Him about our circumstances?
If we are, we ought to repent to God. We must believe that His love for us will never end.
Passage: Jeremiah 48:36~47
36 “So my heart laments for Moab like the music of a pipe; it laments like a pipe for the people of Kir Hareseth. The wealth they acquired is gone.
37 Every head is shaved and every beard cut off;
every hand is slashed and every waist is covered with sackcloth.
38 On all the roofs in Moab and in the public squares there is nothing but mourning, for I have broken Moab like a jar that no one wants,” declares the Lord.
