Solomon followed the foreign women who led him to stray from God and build a house and put watchmen to guard the city without Him. It was only after this that Solomon realised that without God’s presence amongst him, all labour was in vain and it was only through fearing and obeying the LORD’s commands that he could live a blessed life.
Many people toil away, day and night to strive to attain the abundant life. However, with the absence of God by our side, everything we do is a vain attempt. No matter how much effort and hard work we put into something, if God does not provide us with the grace, we will not be able to taste true satisfaction, peace, and joy.
Passage: Psalms 127:1-2
1. Unless the LORD builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the LORD guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.
2. It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.

2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
