Can God solve my problems?
Last week, I exchanged New Year’s greetings by text with a young man who had left the church. “How are you doing these days?” I asked. The young man replied, “These days I read the bible and watch dramas in my room. Also, I work out at the gym, avoiding many people…” So, I said “You are doing well by exercising and reading the bible!” and told him about myself.
“These days, I’m reading a book written by Pastor Bill Hybels called Too Busy Not to Pray. Although my work is not more physically demanding than others, I am mentally and emotionally very busy and worry about a lot of things!.... Maybe that’s why God reminded me of this book, so that this year, the busier I am, the more I will pray…”
Many people have urgent personal needs and serious problems in their lives, however they do not seem to ask God for help. Why is this? Maybe it’s because they think they believe in God, but haven’t actually seen or believe in God’s power.
But the reality is, God can handle any problem we bring to Him.
Creating the heavens and the earth was not a problem for God, nor was raising the dead. There is nothing in the world that is so difficult that God cannot handle it. But, God is waiting for us to acknowledge His power and ask for help.
So, the busier I am, the more I try to pray because I believe in God’s power.
I want you to remember that when we work, we are the ones working but when we pray, it is God who is working.
When you pray about your urgent personal needs and serious problems in your lives, please do not pray vaguely or blindly. Rather, pray specifically for the situation and problem.
God is the only one who can solve our problems.
