As a woman who had lived her whole life in sin came to the Lord in humility she heard from the Lord the proclamation of her forgiveness and salvation. Because of this, no matter how much the people of the world thought of her as a sinner she was able to live in God's forgiveness and peace.
In this way, we too should always be able to hear the proclamation of true forgiveness of sins and salvation when we repent before God. I hope that today will be a day for us to humble ourselves before the Lord and turn away from sin.

48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
