When You Obey, There Will Be Reasons to Give Praise
Zechariah was disciplined by being silenced because he did not believe the word of God's promise. His mouth was opened again when he trusted and obeyed God's command.
What did Zechariah want to say while he was silenced? It was repentance for unbelief in God and praise to God who fulfilled His promises.
Passage to read: Luke 1:57-66
63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.”
64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God.
