We humans like to brag about our wisdom and abilities, but in fact, there are limits to what we can do with our wisdom and abilities. In particular, we are helpless in the face of natural phenomena. Natural disasters such as typhoons and floods cannot be prevented and their course cannot be changed. We just wish for these natural disasters to pass.
Therefore, rather than boasting about our wisdom and abilities and being proud of it, I hope that we can live knowing our limitations and relying on and seeking God who takes care of even natural disasters.
Passage to read: Job 38:22-38
26 to water a land where no one lives, an uninhabited desert,
27 to satisfy a desolate wasteland and make it sprout with grass?
28 Does the rain have a father Who fathers the drops of dew?
29 From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth to the frost from the heavens
30 when the waters become hard as stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen?
