There are 2 aspects in Job’s confession about purity. The first aspect is biblical purity and the second is financial purity.
The reason why Job strived to pursue such purity is found in his phrase “when God comes to judge me.”
If we really believe that God’s judgement exists, it will be natural for us to be afraid of committing even the smallest of sins.
He has told us to cast away any kind of sin so we must fear committing any kind of sin that is in us and live a pure life through repentance.

4 Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
14 what will I do when God confronts me? What will I answer when called to account?
23 For I dreaded destruction from God, and for fear of his splendor I could not do such things.
