Zophar relates an evil man’s life with food. Evil is sweet to the mouth and is left under the tongue to enjoy. However, as it goes into the stomach it turns sour, changes into venom and becomes harmful to our bodies.
Although evil appears to be pleasurable and thought to us give everlasting joy, in reality, it is harmful to our bodies and souls, and make us distant from God.
So, we need to identify evil by using the bible to reflect on our lives and be alert so that we do not fall into the sweet temptation of it.
Passage to read: Job 20:12-29
12 “Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue,
13 though he cannot bear to let it go and lets it linger in his mouth,
14 yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him.
