          • Encouraging and anticipating words.

            Bildad pours out his vicious remarks to Job. Not a single bit of love nor care is found in his words. It was only filled with vicious remarks, curse and criticism. Sometimes we too, when our minds are twisted, have unimaginable malice spring up in our hearts which in turn becomes poisonous words in our tongues. It happens more often with the people we love. That is why David prayed like this, “Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.”

            I pray that the Holy Spirit will be the guard for our lips today so that we can speak words of praise and encouragement that saves others.

            Passage to read: Job 18:1-21
            1 Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
            2 “When will you end these speeches?
                Be sensible, and then we can talk.
            3 Why are we regarded as cattle
                and considered stupid in your sight?
            4 You who tear yourself to pieces in your anger,
                is the earth to be abandoned for your sake?
                Or must the rocks be moved from their place?
            5 “The lamp of a wicked man is snuffed out;
                the flame of his fire stops burning.
