[Hyimang (hope)] is seeking what we want from God, but [somang (also hope)] is something God gives us.
Today, Job’s pain is so unbearable that he asks to be hidden in the [grave] and asks for what he [hopes (hyimang)] for.
Our [hopes (hyimang)] can come and go and they can sometimes go unanswered.
However when we have our [hopes in God (somang)], our souls will be revived in the midst of pain and we will have the strength to pull through the day.
Let us rely on the Lord, our [living hope (somang)], and have faith that even though we are unable, God is able.
Passage: Job 14:13~22
13 “If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!
14 If someone dies, will they live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait for my renewal to come.
15 You will call and I will answer you; you will long for the creature your hands have made.
