          • Is suffering for the right cause in vain?

            Like the blind men who misleadingly identify the elephant by blindly feeling it, there are times when we may become spiritually blind, and misinterpret God in times of hardship.

            Job was upset with God. And despite trying to live faithfully and righteously, he lost his courage and even started to doubt God.
            Nevertheless, Job continued to stand before God. And it was because he still trusted in God nevertheless.

            Through Job, we learn of having a faith where we can pray despite our circumstances. And as we watch Job wrestling with life by pleading and praying to God, I start to see that this is what it means to truly have faith and believe in God.

            Passage to read: Job 9:25-31
            25 “My days are swifter than a runner;
                they fly away without a glimpse of joy.
            26 They skim past like boats of papyrus,
                like eagles swooping down on their prey.
            27 If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint,
                I will change my expression, and smile,’
            28 I still dread all my sufferings,
                for I know you will not hold me innocent.
