When Moses saw the sinful ways of the Israelites he rebuked Aaron but Aaron put the blame on the Israelites and gave excuses.
Although Aaron was a co-worker of Moses who participated in God's work of bringing salvation to the Israelites, leading them this far, Aaron followed the demands of the Israelites and did not stand firm in God's promises.
We also put the blame on other people or conclude that we can't do much about a problem when situations go wrong or end with a bad result. However, in any situation we need go to God first to ask Him and seek his will, and stand strong with unwavering faith in all the world's temptations.
Passage to read: Exodus 32:15-24
22 “Do not be angry, my lord,” Aaron answered. “You know how prone these people are to evil.
23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.’
24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.’ Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!”
