Once the tabernacle is built, it’s filled with the glory of God.
The people followed God’s guidance as they set out whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle and if the cloud didn’t lift, they remained.
The life in the wilderness was unpleasant and difficult for the people, but it was a place of glory in which they felt God’s presence as He protected and led them with the cloud and fire.
God also wants to come into our lives and be present among us. Just as His people set out according to the cloud, if we too live according to His words, He will light our paths.
Passage: Exodus 40:34-38
36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out;
37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted.
38 So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
