After Pharoah's officials saw how the plagues had ruined the land of Egypt, they pleaded Pharaoh to let the Israelites go so that they may worship the Lord. Pharaoh's heart must have been wavered after hearing his official's suggestions and so he called Moses and Aaron and started to negotiate.
Pharaoh did not want to completely obey in God's words but he also thought that if he did not obey, Egypt would really fall to ruins and so he began to compromise and find middle ground.
The compromise that Pharaoh did is also found in us who live today. We feel that we need to obey God's words but we find ourselves compromising with God because of things such as our children, possessions, and treasures. However, when we are to obey God's words we are never to compromise and give our possessions to the world.
I desire for us to have the strength and the faith that believes that we can have victory over the world without compromising so that we can show full obedience in our lives.
Passage to read: Exodus 10:1-11
7 Pharaoh’s officials said to him, “How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the Lord their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?”
8 Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. “Go, worship the Lord your God,” he said. “But tell me who will be going.”
9 Moses answered, “We will go with our young and our old, with our sons and our daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord.”
