Moses who saw an Egyptian person beating a Hebrew person, one of his own people, got angry and killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. Moses thought this would not get revealed to the people easily. However, people found out that Moses had killed a person and Moses in fear flees to Midian. There was nothing familiar to Moses in Midian. It was a place of despair and frustration. But from God’s point of view it was not. It was God’s plan to refine Moses in the wilderness to use him later on. Are we living in the wilderness right now? Perhaps this might be a place where God is giving us rest and refining us for the future.
Passage to read: Exodus 2:11-25
13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”
14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.”
15 When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.
