“Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
The Word of the Lord is not a dead one but one that revives Lazarus. Lazarus was revived through the Word. Even though he got up and walked out alive, his hands and feet were tied up in linen and his face was covered with a cloth. Jesus tells the people to take off his grave clothes and to let him go.
There are many people that believe in Jesus and have received salvation but still live in this bound state. They are unable to live as a healthy Christian, being bound by all kinds of things. They look at themselves and say “why am I in such a state...” and live in despair, blaming themselves for how they are. They end up living unhappy lives and this passes down to their children.
The Lord tells us to live a life that frees those that are bound.
Passage: John 11:42-44
42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
