The man named Gaius that is mentioned in today’s passage must have welcomed and served those who weren’t welcome. John the Apostle says that such hospitality is a valuable one and he expresses his joy of Gaius’ good deeds. It is a great joy for our God when we invite and serve those who are not welcome.
Jesus came to earth for the neglected. He was always with the lowly, befriending them. I hope that we can be like him and look to see if there are outcasts around us and and share the Lord’s love with them like true disciples.
Passage: 3 John 1:1-15
2 Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
3 It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
