I want to ask if our souls have a desperate thirst for the Lord just like the thirsty deer panting for water.
In today’s passage, a man with leprosy who had been called ‘the one cursed by god’ approaches Jesus.
When he says “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean”, it’s not displayed in the words themselves, but I’m sure he was filled with desperation as he faced Jesus.
As I see the leper, I meditate on how our hearts are as we come before the Lord.
I hope that we too can have a heart of desperation today just like the leper.
And when we do, He will reach out His hand to us and say, “I am willing.”
Passage: Matthew 8:1-13
1 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.
2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy.
