진정한 거룩함 (이사야65:1-16)

  In today’s passage, God criticises the Israelites’ hypocrisy. They spoke as if they were holy but their lives were far from it, and they often judged others. The Israelites did not know what it meant to be genuinely holy so they did not realise how wrong and deceitful God deemed their behaviour.
  
  They lived by their own ideas and standards and had lost God’s purpose and will towards them. Their greed overtook them and became their god, and as a result they face God’s judgement.
  
  A truly holy life is letting go of our thoughts and standards. The path to a holy life is trusting God’s will and obeying it even though it may be different from our thoughts and standards.
  
  Passage: Isaiah 65:1-16
  4 who sit among the graves and spend their nights keeping secret vigil; who eat the flesh of pigs, and whose pots hold broth of impure meat;
  5 who say, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me, for I am too sacred for you!’ Such people are smoke in my nostrils, a fire that keeps burning all day.
