The christians at that time debated about whether one could eat a particular food or whether one was allowed to do certain actions according to the law. To these people with conflicting thoughts, Paul says to not judge but instead focus your attention on living a life for the Lord.
Rather than tolerating a weaker part of the body of Christ, when we live our lives as Christians we sometimes criticise, condemn and try to teach others the 'proper' way of living the Christian life.
However, a true Christian should dwell on the question of 'What I should live for?' instead of 'How do I live my life?'.
It is not about 'What I should wear?' and 'What I should eat?' but about living for God.
Passage to read: Romans 14:1-12
6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.
8 If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
5. How will you apply the Word today?
