After Moses, God chose Joshua to lead His people in the promised land. Joshua would have been fearful of the fact that the people were entering the land of Canaan without any weapons nor without any knowledge on how to fight in battles. However, God assures Joshua to "be strong and courageous" and promises him that "I myself will be with you".
Even if we do not have weapons to fight wars or acquire strong soldiers-like assets, the faith that the creator of the world is with us gives us great strength. When we live in this world, there will be obstacles and enemies that we cannot possibly overcome. However, in times like this we need rely on God who is our strength, have hope in the One who will most definitely keep His promise and hence gain the courage to live out our lives.
Deuteronomy 31:19-29
23. The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you"
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
