Let's remember that this moment is because of God's grace
Living for 40 years in the wilderness was not something a person could do with their own strength. In those 40 years of living in the wilderness, it was God who protected them with the pillar of clouds and fire and provided manna and quails to sustain them. Also, He did not allow their clothes or sandals to wear out. All these things were purely because of God's grace and it was to let them know that God was Lord.
Without the heart to realise, the eyes to see and the ears to hear, when we are faced with hardship, we quickly end up in despair and complain. However, if we look around we realise that we have experienced God's grace in our lives and through these experiences we come to understand that God is Lord.
Rather than saying 'It was God's grace, God protected and sustained me' while reflecting on the past, let's live by being thankful and taste the joyfulness of living every moment by God's grace.
Deuteronomy 29:1-9
4. But to this day the Lord has not given you a mind that understands or eyes that see or ears that hear.
5. Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.
6. You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
