          • God who fills us

The Israelites who used to be slaves arrived at the Land of Covenant with nothing in their possession but God’s Promise. In their journey, they encountered much temptation, pain and affliction and in turn resented and betrayed God. The first generation of those who left Egypt died in the wilderness after all the suffering and weren’t able to enter the Land of Covenant, but God allowed the land to the next generation.
And God promised them large, flourishing cities, all kinds of good things, and food to fill them up with.

Moses says to the second generation of the wilderness once again for a blessed life, ‘Do not forget the Lord who led you. Worship Him and revere Him.’

Let us also trust and rely on the Lord who fills our needs and overfills us.

And in order to do so, I choose to obey God’s words so that they become alive in me, and I choose to fill my heart with reverence for the Lord.

Do you trust God our Father who overfills us?

            Passage: Deuteronomy 6:10~19

10 When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,
11 houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,
12 be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God’s message to you?
            3. What do you need to obey?
            4. What are you grateful for today?
