God has promised his people that blessing will last beyond a thousand generations to who keeps his covenant will. In the 10 commandments, the first commandment is to love God and the last is to love thy neighbour.
To keep the covenants, his people had to remember God’s deliverance.
God who delivered Israelites from Egypt’s cruelty by His outstretched arm, also delivered us from sin with Jesus’ love of Christ
The love God showed us gives us joy and gratitude which the world can never give us. God does not only wants us to receive that wonderful love but instead, we should flow it down to our neighbour. I encourage you to grow in love and grace toward the people God has placed in your life.
Passage: Deuteronomy 5:12-21
15 Remember that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought you out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God has commanded you to observe the Sabbath day.
16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
