There’s recently been someone that’s had a great influence in my life. It’s my lovely daughter ‘Minha’.
It makes me very happy when she smiles and coos. The changes children show as they gradually grow bring their parents great happiness.
As I meditate on God through today’s passage, I feel that God saw the Israelites, His children, the same way.
I think God had wanted His children to grow healthy in Him and give Him joy.
And I think one of the reasons God gave them commandments is because He didn’t want them to ever leave Him.
God wants His children to grow healthy and become His joy. Let us confess our gratitude to our God and become His joy today.
Passage: Deuteronomy 5:1~11
8 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
9 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,
10 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
