In the passage we read today, Uzzah’s death story is a little ironic. That’s because of the reason of his death. He held it for fear that the ark of God would fall to the ground and be damaged, but it was death that he faced. Apparently he did that for God but the result was his death.
Sometimes when something happens to us, we try to get through it or solve it with human ideas. However, Proverbs chapter 1 tells us that the fear of the lord is the beginning of knowledge.
It is wise to follow God's ways even though it seems foolish and contrary to my thinking. For God's thoughts are greater than ours, and his ways are superior to ours.
Passage: 1 Chronicles 13:9 ~ 14
9. When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled.
10. The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey today?
4. What are you grateful for today?
