The parable of the vine and the branches
Jesus is the true vine and we are the branches. The branches are not able to obtain the nutrients itself therefore cannot bear any fruits themselves. Likewise, believers are only able to bear fruit when we remain in Jesus who is the vine. To remain in means to be united with Christ. Let’s reflect whether we are truly remaining in Jesus in our lives. Perhaps are we living a life without Jesus and living a fruitless life?
Also who are those we need to pray for and exhort so that they can remain in Jesus?
Passage: John 15:1-8
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
