King Herod heard about Jesus and said John the Baptist who has been raised from the dead. This action of King Herod shows that he is suffering from the guilt of wrongdoing and killing John. Knowing John to be a righteous and holy Man. When Herod heard John, he was greatly afflicted; yet he liked to listen to him. Thus he became distressed from killing John and being unable to protect him till the end. If we don’t repent in front of God, we will be burdened and live a distressful life.
Jesus has come to us before we sought him and he is wanting to save us from this guilt. ‘If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness’ (1 John 1:9). If you are suffering from your unsolved sins, ask Jesus for his forgiveness with the humble heart. He will forgive and bless you with freedom and peace in your heart.
