Children always ‘boast’ about something. A movie they have seen, toys they own, etc... they like to show off what has made them feel good. When I see children boasting about something, it makes me wonder whether we were all born to boast.
In the Bible, God delights in one kind of boasting. It is boasting of having the understanding to know Him and introducing Him to others- in other words, ‘testimonies’. And when I see people giving testimonies ‘boasting’ about God, I can feel a sense of joy and satisfaction in them.
Let us experience something today we can ‘boast’ of with God. The more desire we have to boast about Him, the more goodness He will allow in our lives.
Passage: Jeremiah 9:17-26
23 This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,
24 but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,”
declares the Lord.
