A prophet who preaches words that are non distressing to people can be assumed as a temptation of the false prophet. For those who only enjoys listening to the good and harmless words feels real burden when they receive the word of truth. God said to Jeremiah that the God’s word is “like a fire and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces” (Jeremiah 23:29)
Through the words of truth, God set our sins on fire and demolishes them. The moment when we realise that the burdensome words are acceptable it’s when we gain the blessing heart of repentance.
Passage: Jeremiah 23: 33-40
33 “When these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, ‘What is the message from the Lord?’ say to them, ‘What message? I will forsake you, declares the Lord.’
34 “If a prophet or a priest or anyone else claims, ‘This is a message from the Lord,’ I will punish them and their household.”
35 “This is what each of you keeps saying to your friends and other Israelites: ‘What is the Lord’s answer?’ or ‘What has the Lord spoken?’
