In today’s passage, the angel gives John a little scroll and tells him to eat it.
It tastes sweet in his mouth, but his stomach turns sour after he eats it.
We experience joy when we hear God’s Words and meditate on it, but when we try to live by it, it can be inconvenient and even painful.
This is because when we apply God’s Words in our lives, there are things we must give up and sacrifice.
We mustn’t forget, but remember and apply God’s Words in our lives.
We may experience bitterness at times, but when we live by His Words, God will allow sweet rain in our hearts through His amazing grace the world can’t offer.
Passage: Revelation 10:1-11
9 So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me, “Take it and eat it. It will turn your stomach sour, but ‘in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey.’”
10 I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth, but when I had eaten it, my stomach turned sour.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
