  Today’s passage reminds me of hymn 419 and the lyrics ‘Count your blessings and see what God has done.’
  The passage today talks about ‘the festival of tabernacles’ God had commanded the Israelites to follow at the end of harvest time.
  ‘The festival of tabernacles’ is a reminder for the Israelites of how they lived in tents in the wilderness after God brought them out of Egypt.
  The Israelites lived in tents in the middle of the wilderness grateful for their salvation.
  God wants us to remember His grace of allowing us to overcome poverty and despair.
  How many blessings have we received so far?
  ‘Count your blessings’ and you will ‘see what God has done.’
  
  Passage: Leviticus 23:33-44
  
  42 Live in temporary shelters for seven days: All native-born Israelites are to live in such shelters
  43 so your descendants will know that I had the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’”
