Crucifixion was a punishment even rarely applied to Roman citizens yet today, Jesus was crucified on the cross in the cruelest, most shameful way possible, with a sign that read ‘The King of the Jews’.
Why did Jesus, who was sinless, become crucified, when crucifixion was for the cursed according to the law?
It was to save ‘me’...
He loved me to death, and gave His life on the cross so I could live.
Let us think of the cross today and be grateful for His love and grace.
Passage: John 19:14-22
19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews.
21 The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”
22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
