The people of the Galatian churches believed in Jesus and had experienced the grace of the Holy Spirit. Yet they were falsely deceived and their faith that their salvation came from the grace of Jesus’ crucifixion faltered and they returned to their foolish ways of law-keeping. In doing so, the Galatians were living by their own righteousness and will, and not by their faith in God.
Foolish Christians do not trust or rely on the Lord, but rely on their own strength.
We must realise that we are helpless beings who are unable to do anything without the help of the Holy Spirit.
No matter how challenging our circumstances may be, let us keep our faith and avoid being foolish Christians. Let us continue to believe that when we keep our faith, God’s grace will fall upon our lives.
Passage: Galatians 3:1-9
1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.
2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?
7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
