In today’s passage, Jesus feels sorry for a huge crowd after realizing that they had been starving for three days and feeds them.
Jesus performs a miracle by feeding over four thousand people with two fish and seven loaves of bread and He shows them His greatness through it.
However, despite witnessing such a great event, some still doubted and even criticized Jesus. They were called the Pharisees.
The Pharisees’ hearts were filled with discontent and envy towards Jesus, and rather than accepting His words and all the miracles He performed, they attacked Him. Their arrogance covered their eyes and prevented them from seeing who Jesus was and led them to commit the sin of nailing Jesus to the cross.
An unhealthy state of mind can distort your view and even cause you to kill.
We must be careful of the distorted view of the Pharisees and protect ourselves from it. Our state of mind determines what we see. If we have an unhealthy mindset, we could potentially lose the things we cherish.
In order to hold on to what we cherish, we must always examine our mindset.
Passage: Mark 8:1-13
11 The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven.
12 He sighed deeply and said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to it.”
13 Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side.
