          • A person’s state of mind is their personality.

When the disciples ate without cleaning their hands, the Pharisees criticised them for being dirty.
Jesus says that what comes out of a person defiles them, not what goes into them. He says that evil thoughts from like heart such as obsceneness, theft, murder, adultery, greed, viciousness, deception and arrogance are what defiles a person.
Through this we realise what we genuinely need to see in today’s world where we only care about what we can physically see with our eyes.
We realise that if our state of mind is focused on the world, it is a merger of time before we fall into sin.
What do we need to do to clean our hearts?
We should lead a holy life through daily reflection on the word of God.

            Passage : Mark 7:14-23
20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.
21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder,
22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

            1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?

            2. What is God’s message to me?

            3. What do I need to obey?

            4. Write a list of thankful prayer points.
