Jesus does not look at our physical appearance, but instead at our core.
Today when Jesus called for his disciples, he called for sinners, not righteous people.
Jesus was on his way when he saw Alphaeus’ son Levi sitting at the tax office, and called him, saying, ‘follow me.’
Would Jesus have called him not knowing who he was? No. Jesus knew what he needed.
That is why he did not pay attention to other people and called upon the tax collector Levi, who himself knew he was a sinner.
I want us to reflect on what standards we are using when we are looking at other people.
I want us to reflect on what qualifications we have to be judging others.
I hope that we can live trying to look at people’s cores like Jesus.

14 As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.
15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.
