Jehoram’s son Ahaziah became king of Judah. His mother, Athalia was daughter of Ahab, and she encouraged Ahaziah to act wickedly and he followed the idolatrous ways of the house of Ahab.
Joram was injured in a war he and Ahaziah were in together, and after being injured, he went back to Jezreel. Ahaziah then went down to Jezreel to visit Joram and died there.
All this had been planned out by God.
In verse 7, it says, ‘Through Ahaziah’s visit to Joram, God brought about Ahaziah’s downfall’.
If we sin against God and don’t repent, God will punish us for our sins.
That is why I reflect upon my life in reverence of the Lord to see whether I have committed great sins, whether I have loved anything more than the Lord, and whether I have done anything as I pleased.
Today, I will revere the Lord and fear Him in all I do.
Passage: 2 Chronicles 22:1-12
3 He too followed the ways of the house of Ahab, for his mother encouraged him to act wickedly. 4 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as the house of Ahab had done, for after his father’s death they became his advisers, to his undoing.
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
