In the book ‘Driven by Eternity: Make Your Life Count Today and Forever’ by John Bevere, there is the story of John visiting a propagator who was in jail for committing adultery, and asking him questions as to why he strayed away from God.
‘When did your love for Jesus die out?’
‘’No, my love for Him has not died out’ ‘I just had no fear of God’
‘This jail was not a judgement from God about my life, but instead a mercy.’
Fear is judgement and eternal punishment for non Christians, but for Christians, fear is respect and awe.
This is knowing how much God hates sin and living in front of his fiery eyes.
This inflicts a large impact in the way we live our lives.
Passage : 2 Chronicles 19:1-11
6 He told them, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict.
7 Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.”
