One thing God’s chosen people had in common was that they were all ‘lowly’. He chose those that were disregarded and poor as His children and took care of them. And He accepted their praise and gratitude with joy. He became a father to the lowly.
The world likes the rich and the smart and wants to be friends with them all because they believe it would benefit them and enrich their own lives. However, we as faithful people choose to be friends with the neglected and the weak because we believe this makes our Father happy.
God responds to the plea of the lowly and the weak and looks out for them. When we share our lives with the neglected, we will make God happy.
Today’s passage: Psalms 102: 12-28
17 He will respond to the prayer of the destitute;
he will not despise their plea.
18 Let this be written for a future generation,
that a people not yet created may praise the Lord
