Planting the seed of the gospel, receiving Jesus and getting baptised of a non-believer isn’t the end. We should not forget the continuum of showing interests and necessity of caring.
Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they taught and preached the word of Lord. Besides, they proposed to re-visit the brothers from all palaces where they preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing. The reason being was to follow up the spiritual lives of the congregations and to encourage and support the mature growth in spirit.
These applies to us as well. People who just received Jesus and have shallow depth of faith need ‘spiritual family’. Hence, it is necessary for us to become the family to the people with fragile faith by caring, comforting, giving interest and helping them to grow.
‘Saving the lost soul isn’t the end. We need to making disciples.’
Passage: Acts 15:30-41
35 But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord.
36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.”
1. Did you think of Jesus when you woke up this morning?
2. What is God’s message to you?
3. What do you need to obey?
4. What are you grateful for today?
