Stephen was stoned to death by the Jews. He had done nothing wrong but under false accusation he died. Whilst being stoned, Stephen did not set his eyes upon himself or upon the people stoning him. Instead, his eyes were fixed upon the Lord in heaven.
Are you in hardship?
Are you persecuted or disdained for no reason?
Is there sadness you are struggling alone with?
Where is your focus and what do you set your eyes upon?
Faith isn’t only about what you believe but also about what you see. If you are in these situations, I hope you can fix your eyes to the Lord in heaven.
Acts 7:54-60
55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
