When Jesus went up to heaven, he told his disciples to 'wait for the Holy Spirit to come upon us.' And the disciples go up to Jerusalem waiting for Jesus' promise.
The disciples didn't just wait looking up at the sky where Jesus had ascended.
They prayed for Jesus to one day return.
And they waited doing the best they could where they were.

It is only then that God's work will be revealed in our lives.
Please walk your first step of faith.
Passage: Acts 1: 12-26

23 So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias.
24 Then they prayed,“Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen
25 to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.”
26 Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.
