If the afflictions are inevitable we need to be able to face them confidently to minimise the heartaches and pains it may have on us. There is a poem that goes:
“There is a flower tree. It's leaves are eaten away by the caterpillars. It's honey is taken away by the bees. It’s fragrance is taken away by the wind. At a glance this flower has lost everything. However, in a matter of fact this flower has not lost anything as when fall comes it will get it’s fruit."
Sometimes God allows us to go through times of tribulations to give us the good fruit. Hezekiah was able to thank God for the suffering he had to face as he realised it was part of the good purpose of God.
Passage: Isaiah 38:9-22
17 Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.
1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning, when you were eating?
2.What is God’s message to me through his word today?
3. What was it that I obeyed to because I thought Jesus was telling me to do today?
4. What was I disobedient to in the message given to me today?
