          • Wisdom of Silence

The Commander told the people to not listen to Hezekiah. He said those who follow the king of Assyria will enjoy an abundant life. However, these were all a lie to pull the people into slavery. Satan seems to give the whole world, however he will take everything away.
It is important to not be persuaded by those faithless people but to remain silent. This silence is key to wisdom. The more you speak, the more you could become involved in their trap. Silence is the best method when dealing with people who want to fight with you. Silence is best for people who speak criticism and gossip.

Passage to Read: Isaiah 36: 11-22
18 “Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says, ‘The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?
19 Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my hand?
20 Who of all the gods of these countries have been able to save their lands from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”
21 But the people remained silent and said nothing in reply, because the king had commanded, “Do not answer him.”
22 Then Eliakim son of Hilkiah the palace administrator, Shebna the secretary and Joah son of Asaph the recorder went to Hezekiah, with their clothes torn, and told him what the field commander had said.

            Questions to think about:
            1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God telling me?
            3. What do I need to be obedient with?
            4. Write down your thankful prayer.
