          • True Obedience

Isaiah showed true obedience by delivering God's warnings in bare feet and body despite being shamed. He did not know why he had to take off his clothes but he was obedient. We say we will be obedient but when we do not understand why we do not obey. True Obedience should not rely on our knowledge, experience and pride. This could lead to complaints and disobedience. Obedience is more than the heart but is putting it into action. True obedience is acting according to his Word.

            Isaiah 20: 1-6

2 at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz. He said to him, “Take off the sackcloth from your body and the sandals from your feet.” And he did so, going around stripped and barefoot.
3 Then the Lord said, “Just as my servant Isaiah has gone stripped and barefoot for three years, as a sign and portent against Egypt and Cush,
4 so the king of Assyria will lead away stripped and barefoot the Egyptian captives and Cushiteexiles, young and old, with buttocks bared—to Egypt’s shame.

            Questions to think about:
            1. Did you think about Jesus when you woke up this morning?
            2. What is God telling me?
            3. What do I need to be obedient with?
            Write down your thankful prayer.
